How to measure a room before ordering flooring

A simple method for calculating the area and allowing for cutting waste.

Measure each rectangle separately

Measure the length and width in feet. For an irregular room, divide it into simple rectangles and add their areas together.

Allow for cutting waste

Add 10% to the total area for cuts and adjustments. The calculator on each product page applies this allowance automatically.

Confirm before installation

Measurements entered online remain your responsibility. A measurement visit is always scheduled when installation is ordered.
