Ask us your questions.
Delivery included, installation, warranty, measurements, refunds: answers from Plancher d’ici before you choose, measure or have your floor installed.
- How much is delivery?
- Nothing extra. At Plancher d’ici, delivery and carry-in are included in the floor price everywhere in our area.
- How long does delivery take?
- Two days: an order placed today with Plancher d’ici arrives at your home two days later. You can also pick it up at 3400 Matte Boulevard in Brossard, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Where do you deliver?
- In 337 municipalities, from Mont-Tremblant to Sherbrooke and from Vaudreuil-Dorion to Trois-Rivières: Montréal, Laval, both shores, the Laurentians, Lanaudière, Montérégie and the Eastern Townships, as far as Drummondville. We don’t deliver further, even for a fee.
- What does carry-in mean?
- The boxes are carried into your home. We don’t leave them at the door.
- Do you install?
- Yes, with the Plancher d’ici crew: from $3.50 per square foot for vinyl or laminate, $4 for hardwood, $4.50 for engineered and $8 for tile.
- What isn’t included in installation?
- Baseboards, quarter rounds and mouldings, levelling and underlayment, moving furniture and appliances, and trimming doors. That work is planned separately. Plancher d’ici does not do stairs.
- What about removing the old floor?
- Removal is a separate service, checked on the product page: $2.50 per square foot for vinyl or laminate, $3.50 for wood, $4.50 for tile.
- Is installation guaranteed?
- For one year. Plancher d’ici guarantees the installation done by its crew.
- Who takes the measurements?
- Customers measure themselves, with the guide on every product page or with their phone (see our measuring guide). With installation, a measurement visit is always scheduled first.
- What if my measurements are off?
- Measurements remain your responsibility, and an adjustment may be billed on site. The Plancher d’ici calculator already adds 10% for cuts and rounds up to the box.
- Is the in-room preview reliable?
- The Plancher d’ici preview starts from the real photo of the sample, not a generic texture. Colours still vary between screens: if in doubt, give us a call.
- Hardwood or engineered: which one should I choose?
- Hardwood is solid through its full thickness. Engineered flooring puts a hardwood wear layer over a stable core, so it moves less with humidity, in a basement for example.
- Vinyl or tile: which is better for a bathroom?
- Tile stands up to water and scratches for decades. Vinyl is warmer underfoot, and installation costs less at Plancher d’ici: $3.50 per sq. ft., versus $8.
- A box arrived broken?
- Report it on delivery: Plancher d’ici sends another one, the same as for a mistake in the order. After delivery, damage is no longer covered, unless there is a manufacturing defect.
- Can I get a refund?
- Not once the floor is installed. Before installation, Plancher d’ici takes back unopened boxes of vinyl and laminate, and tile by the full box; hardwood and engineered flooring are not taken back. Cancelling after the measurement visit costs $200. Call 438 524-0484.
- Can I see a real sample?
- Yes. Come see it at 3400 Matte Boulevard in Brossard, or Plancher d’ici brings it to your home so you can see it in your room, under your light.
- How do I pay?
- At the online checkout, by credit card, Apple Pay or PayPal.
- Why buy here rather than at a big-box store?
- At a big-box store the shelf price excludes delivery, and installation goes through a third party. At Plancher d’ici the price per square foot includes delivery and carry-in, and the team that advises you is the team that installs.
- Do prices include taxes?
- No. Prices per square foot are before taxes: GST and QST are added at checkout. Delivery and carry-in are already included.
- When do I pay for installation?
- Not online. The amount shown on the product page is an estimate for your area; Plancher d’ici confirms it at the measuring visit, and it is paid to the installation crew.
- Does my subfloor need to be ready before installation?
- The subfloor must be flat, dry and solid. Levelling, patching and underlayment are not part of installation: we assess them at the measuring visit and quote them separately, before any work starts.
- Can this floor go over radiant heating?
- Radiant compatibility depends on the product, not the family. Engineered and vinyl often allow it; solid hardwood rarely does. The manufacturer’s spec sheet decides: tell us you have radiant heat before you order.
- I live in a condo: what should I check about noise?
- The condo by-laws decide. Most require an acoustic membrane with a minimum rating, and the board may ask to see it before work starts. Underlayment isn’t included in installation: plan for it when you order.
- I have unopened boxes left over: can I return them?
- Returns depend on the floor, and only for boxes that were never opened. Plancher d’ici takes back vinyl and laminate, and tile by the full box only; hardwood, engineered flooring and discounted products are not taken back. Cancelling after the measurement visit costs $200.
- Can a floor be installed in winter?
- Yes, installation is indoor work, all year round. In winter the air is dry: leave the boxes closed in the room for the acclimation time the manufacturer specifies before installation.
- Who covers what: the manufacturer or you?
- Two separate warranties. The manufacturer covers the product (finish, wear, defects) under its own terms. Plancher d’ici covers the installation done by its crew for one year.
- I want a herringbone or diagonal layout: does the calculation change?
- Yes. A herringbone or diagonal layout needs more cuts than the 10% the calculator adds. Call Plancher d’ici before you order, so you don’t run short of boxes on installation day.
